    Wood Preparation
(fungus and mildew deterioration on Cedar sided home)
For the success of any restoration, it is essential that you properly prepare the wood to remove any existing finish, mold, fungus, and deteriorated wood fibers. This will ensure that the new finish can properly penetrate the wood, for a better over all finish.

(Chemical Wash on Red wood deck)                                             (light wash on cedar / New wood in good condition)
There are several ways to clean and prepare the wood surface before staining or finishing
.. here are just a few that we use, depending on the condition of the wood.
(badly damaged Log home../ Notice the surface rot and thick alkali build up on left hand side)
(Preparation of this home was done with a Cob blaster using ground up corn cob medium/ Works almost the same as a Sand blaster, but leaving a much smoother surface.  Cobs are also biodegradable therefore there is less cleanup)
