My fourth organized trail run of 2002. I participated in the Bighorn
50K, the Elkhorn 50K and the RimRunners' 26 Mile fun run from East
Rosebud Lake to Cooke City, MT and now the WILDEST of all, The Meeteetse
15K Trail.

Great run! The hardest run I've ever done. I'll be back next year.

I ran (or craweled) the 15K race. Wow, what a challenging course! The
scenery was beautiful... awesome mountains... what a great way to spend
the day! The race committee did an excellent job organizing and laying
out the course! Does the Absaroka Challenge compare favorably to the Mount
Marathon course in Seward Alaska? I'd say "Yes"!! Any slope surfin' buff
will find the 1,000 foot grand finale of this course to be quite
a "rush"! I will look forward to running the race next year... maybe shave
off a few minutes...meet new faces... see old faces (really old faces like
Fred's and John's)!! Congrads to the men's winner (Rob Rosser)and woman's
winner (Nadia White)!! Hey, how about a pre-race BBQ and campout next year??
FUN!!

What a great day and a great race!! My heart and lungs felt it in a
good way. Congratulations on a well run race. Your prizes were too much.
I felt bad taking all that money. Ribbons would do!!

The first annual Meeteetse Absaroka Mountain Challenge was everything
it promised to be: challenging, scenic and really, really fun! Thanks to
John for the attentive administrative work, and to Fred for flagging and
reflagging the route (couldn't have made it without you!)
Best parts of the race: The rock scramble up and the chute descent.
But there were plenty of other highlights, not the least of which was the
view from the ridge trail. In fact, that was probably the biggest challenge
-- I got so carried away with the view that I missed my turn and had to
double back to find it!
I hope we laid down some decent course times to challenge people next
year. I'll be there next year, wearing gloves for the decent!
Thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors. You put on a race that has
all the makings of a classic.
