Stella was the daughter of Benjamin Pearson and Sarah Ellis Hawley. She moved to Byron, Big Horn County, Wyoming about 1905, with her mother, three brothers and two sisters. Stella worked with her mother on the tunnel of the Shoshone River in the Corbett area between Powell and Cody. Stella was a very industrious woman, good wife, mother, homemaker and cook. She made everyone feel welcome and was very thoughtful of anyone who was in need of assistance in any way. To know her was to love her. She had many firiends, painted water color and oil paintings. did embroidery work and was an excellent seamstress. She was active in MIA, Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary. Stella died 11 days after her 10th child was born (Stella Beryl), at the age of 39 and 7 months of peritonities. Her life had been an examplary one.

Family members going to Billings for the funeral of Mrs. Viola Hollingsworth Monday were the A.J. Alexander's, the Frank Alexander's, the Ed Havig's, the David Jones', the Ellis Powelson's, the Cliff Powelson's. Dell Alexander and Ruth A. Bischoff. Mrs. Hollingsworth was the eldest of ten children of Adelbert and Viola Alexander. Following her marriage she lived in Billings. She is survived by her widower, six daughters, five sons, three borothers, five sisters and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bishop Cliff Powelson, a nephew, conducted graveside services. A dinner was served to the family at the Ed Havig home.

Mr. Benjamin Pearson died at the home of his sister, Mrs Albert Robison Tuesday night. Mr. Pearson had made his home with his sister for the past two years. He has one daughter, Mrs. Ira Egan of Byron and four sons in Utah. Funeral services were held last Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Byron Cemetery. His relatives have the sympathy of the community.

Dies At Byron
Mr. Ben Pearson, former citizen of Salt Lake City died of heart trouble and old age Wednesday, September 5th. Funeral services were held at Byron Thursday at which Bishop Jones and Mr. John Jensen were the speakers. Those surviving him are; a sister, Mrs. Albert Robison and a daughter, Mrs. Ira Egan.

David O. Pearson
David, 59, died Wednesday, May 13, 1981, of a heart attack on the John Abraham farm west of Byron.
He was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Lexington, Nebraska. He has lived in the Big Horn Basin for the past 30 years. He was employed by Abraham Farms.
He is survived by five daughters, Wanetta Kay Foster of Byron, Alida Jane Foster of Lovell, NoraLee Cook of Windsor, Colorado, Joan Louise Rodriquez of Byron and Linda Arlene Bowers of Powell; and 13 grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Air Force having served during World War II.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 16, in the Byron L.D.S. Chapel with Bishop Charles Hessenthaler officiating. Burial was in the Byron Cemetery with military honors.

Anne Lucille Petrich
Anne Lucille Petrich was born January 27, 1933, the daughter of Frank and Jean Alexander at Byron, Wyo. She received all her schooling in Byron, graduating from Byron High School in 1951. On April 28, 1952 she was united in marriage to Arthur F. Petrich. To this union was born four sons, Chad, Allen, Troy and Gary.
She was a member of the LDS Church and the Cody Eagles Auxiliary. Lucille was a cook at Rocky Mountain High School for 17 years and loved her work. Her first love was her grandchildren. Her next love was camping and fishing.
She suffered a heart attack up the North Fork with a fishing pole in her hand and passed away Saturday, July 13, 19991 at the West Park Hospital in Cody.
Survivors include her sons, Chad, Allen, and Gary, all of Byron and Troy of Portland, Ore.; her daughter-in-law, Kathy; grandchildren Kenny, Nikki, Jean, Andrew, and Amber; her mother Jean Alexander; sisters Viola Asay and Fran Bassett all of Byron; brothers, Bert Alexander of Portland, Ore. and Frank Alexander of Vancouver, Wash.; and her mother-in-law Forrest Petrich of Byron.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 16, 1991 at 10 a.m. in the Byron LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Byron Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell was in charge of arrangements.

Marion Johanna Preuit, 63, died Sunday, April 21, 1996, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Mont. after a brief illness.
She was born October 17, 1932, in Cheyenne, Wyo., the daughter of Charles Joseph and Hazel Kistler Zohner. She grew up in Wheatland, Wyo. where she attended school and graduated from Wheatland High School.
She married Richard Preuit April 4, 1951, in Wheatland where they made their home. They were later divorced. She lived in Green River, Wyo. for a time and then moved to Byron 17 months ago to be near her daughter.
She was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years. She served as a volunteer helper in the second grade in the Byron school system where she was a friend to many of the children who referred to her as "Grandma." She was a member of the Lutheran church.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Preuit of Santa Clara, Calif. and Edwin J. Preuit of Rawlins, Wyo.; one daughter, Vicki Isabell of Byron; one brother, Charles Zohner of Portland, Ore.; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Judith Ann.
Funeral services were held Wenesday, April 24, 1996, at 2 p.m. in the Byron LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Byron cemetery.
Haskell Funral Home of Lovell was in charge of arrangements.

Pryde Boy Killed In Fall From Horse
The community was shocked to hear of the sudden death of John Pryde. The horse he was riding struck a post throwing him over backward. He was rushed to the hospital, but passed away without regaining consciousness.
Funeral services were held in the ward chapel Monday at two o'clock. Bishop Fank Jones conducting the services. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnson, Grace Stevens and Mr. Ericksen sang "God Moves in a Mysterious Way;" opening prayer by Mr. Dimick. The speakers were Eillis Powelson, Mr. LeSueur and Orin Jones, each paying tribute to the departed. Mr. Ericksen sang "Fall to Face." Mr. LeSueur read a poem expressing the thoughts of teachers and schoolmates of John Pryde.
A quartett sang "Goin' Home," and the benediction was offered by Thomas Rogers. The floral offerings were beartiful. Pall beareres were Thomas Lynch, Jack Stevens, Archie A. Ames, Charles McKay, Teddie Neville and Hillman Snell. The flower girls were Gwen Sessions, Geneva Sessions, Artella Egan, Melva Rivers, Beth Robison, Betty Hesler, Margaret Pryde and Julia Lindsay.
John Madison Pryde was born at Byron March 9 , 1921 and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Pryde. He is survived by his parents, five brothers and five sisters together with a host of relatives. The sympathy of the commuity is extended to the mourners.

Funeral Services For Judy Pryde
Funeral services for Judy Pryde were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Byron Ward chapel with Bishop Ernest Jensen presiding.
The choir sang, "Through Deepening Trials" under the baton of Fannie Wolz with Grace Stevens at the organ. Nylen Allphin offered the invocation. Van Johnson rendered a solo "Lay My Head Beneath the Rose," accompanied by Hazel Fisher. The obituary was given by Violet Mangus. Merrill B. Tew sang "In the Garden of Tomorrow" accompanied by Mrs. Tew. President Frank H. Brown delivered the sermon and gave words of comfort and praise to the family. He also read a letter from LeRose Doty Peterson of Laramie that she had written to her father upon learning of the sudden death of Judy. It was a beautifullly sincere and glowing tribute ot her close friend.
The choir sang in closing "Oh My Father, and the benediction was offered by Walter Stevens. There were many beautiful floral offerings and a very large crowd attended, among them many of her school friends from Byron, Lovell and Cowley.
Julia Anna Pryde, known ot everyone as Judy, was born Aug. 3rd, 1931 in Byron, the youngest child in a family of seven, to Alex and Vervean Denny Pryde. She attended the Byron schools and graduated from the high school in 1949 as one of the valedictorians of her class. She was very active in school and church activities.
She was a member of the pep squad for fours years and a cheer leader in her junior year and was very adapt as a baton twirler. She was district FHA secretary as a junior and elected state vice president of the FHA in her senior year and was a delegate to the convention in Kansas City.
She served as sophomore class president and as junior class secretary and also as secretary of the Sunday school for several years. She was a member of the school band and the triple trio, she played a prominent part in her class play and was queen of the junior prom.
She was in her sophomore year at the University of Wyoming where she was a member of the Lamba Delta Sigma church sorority. She had just returned form accompanying the University marching band as a majorette to the Gator bowl game at Jacksonville, Fla., that took place on New Years Day. She was coming home to finish out the schol year at the Northwest Center in Powell when she was instantly killed in a car accident on the Tensleep mountain road Sunday, January 7th.
Her father died suddenly of a heart attack August 31, 1949. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Vervean Pryde, one brother, Robert Pryde, and four sisters, Mrs. Edwin NeVille, Mrs. Henry Whitmore and Phyllis Pryde all of Byron and Mrs. Ernest Kylander of Powell.

Judy Pryde Dies In Car Accident
Funeral servies were held yesterday afternoon at the Byorn Ward LDS chapel for Julia Ann Pryde, 19 year old University of Wyoming freshman who was killed in an auto accident in Tensleep canyon Sunday.
Judy was one of the two drum majorettes to accompany the University band to Jacksonville, Fla., for the Gator Bowl game. She was accompanying Bob Welch of Cowley, driver of the car, who was injured in the crash but was able to get out of the car after it left the highway and get back where he attracted the attention of passing motorists.
The accident occurred on an icy curve which caused the car to skid into the bank and then across the highway and over the edge. Miss Pryde, was killed instantly. They had come thru Buffalo to bring other University students to their homes and were coming over the mountain pass to Worland. Both were students at Wyoming University.
Miss Pryde was the youngest daughter of Mrs. Vervean Pryde of Byron and in addition to her mother is survived by one brother, Robert and four sisters, Mrs. Ernest Kylander of Powell, Mrs. Ed Neville, Mrs. Henry Whitemore and Phyllis Pryde of Byron. An account of the fuenral will appear next week.

Sudden Death of Mrs. Richter at Elk Basin
Mildred Matilda Richter, wife of Ralph F. Richter, died at her home at Elk Basin suddenly Sunday afternoon at 2:45. The body was taken in charge by Thos. Tucker, Powell undertaker, and brought to his funeral parlor here. Friends of the deceased from the Byron neighborhood will take the remains from the funeral parlor Friday to the Byron cemetery, where the body will find its final resting place.
Mr. Richter, formerly a seafaring man and in the naval service during the war, has been employed for the Ohio company as a pumper at Elk Basin for the past two years. His people live in New York state. While his wife is a native of Nova Scotia and has a sister living in Canda. Mrs. Richter was 34 years of age, and leaves no children. She and her husband lived for a time in the Byron oil field, and they have many friends.

Diego Ringo Rivera, 4 month old son of Pam and Genaro Rivera of Byron, died Wednesday, November 18, 1998, at St. Vincents Hospital in Billings, where he had been a patient for about a month.
He was born June 28, 1998, in Powell. Survivors include his parents; a brother, Ricardo; and a sister, Stefanie, all of Byron.
A wake service was held Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, at 7 p.m. at Haskell Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was conducted Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lovell, with Father Peter Johnson officiating.
Interment was in the Byron Cemetery.

Elmer Robison
Elmer B. Robison, 54, died Wednesday, May 23, 1990 in his home in Rancho Cordova, California where he had been a resident for the past year.
He was born September 2, 1935 in Sheridan, Wyo., the son of Ray and Hazel Barnes Robison. He spent his early childhood in Kane, Wyo. where he attended school until the fifth grade. The family moved to Lovell, where he continued his schooling until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1954.
He retired in 1973 as a Petty Officer 1st Class. He worked in the oil fields as roughneck and driller after his retirement. He married Betty Andres in 1960. He loved the mountains, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by one son, Joseph of Salt Lake City, Utah; two daughters, Verdine Wittick of Ceres, Calif and Mary Sumpter of Cody; three brothers, Charles and Dale of Lovell and Robert of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; one sister, Mary Harmon of Rancho Cordova; four half brothers, Joe, Solon, Melvin and Billy Robison; three half sisters, Stella May of Byron, Della Negro of Lovell, and Mayme Martin; and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 31, 1990 in the LDS Stake Center in Lovell at 2 p.m. with Bishop Don Dover officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Byron cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Byron, Bighorn Co., Wyoming, Dec 17 - We have some few cases of sickness, mostly typhoid fever, two young men, sons of Bro. Nels Madson, are laying very sick.
Lilburn, the 5-year-old son of Albert and Phebe Robison, late of Georgetown, Idaho, died recently. A daughter of Gilbert Marchant, in the Cowley ward also succumbed to the disease. President Sessions has called upon the Saints for a fast which was generally observed.

Chei Rhe age 7 died of a brain tumor Saturday, Sept. 3, 1977, in the North Big Horn Hospital. She had been ill since December.
Born in Denver, Colo., to John and Sharon Rogers, she attended kindergarten at Taft Elementary School in Billings and first grade at Bo-Peep Elementary School in Circle. Cheri was active in primary and Sunday school at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a Brownie Scout.
Survivors include her parents of Circle; a brother, Jon; and grandparents, Everett Rogers of Albuquerque, N. M. and Mrs. Edna Brightly of Byron.
Services were held Tuesday in the Byron LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Byron Cemetery with Haskell Funeral Home in charge.

Funeral services for L. Janiece Savage, 35, were held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Gillette.
Mrs. Savage died Monday, May 7, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home after an extended bout with cancer. She was born Sept. 25, 1948, in Lovell to Merlin and Evelyn (Beck) Sessions.
She attended grade school to fifth grade in Lovell and was graduated from Moorcroft High School in 1967 and from Northwest Community College in 1970.
She married William M. Savage Jr. on Aug. 20, 1971, in Deadwood, S.D.
She is survived by her husband, Bill, of Gillette, four children, Christopher, 11, Laura, 9, Tara, 7, and Kathy, 6; her parents of Moorcroft; three brothers, Lyle Sessions of Moorcroft, Terry Sesssions of Gillette, Larry Sesssions of Lovell; and two sisters, Linda Locke of Upton and Carol Bethea of Gillette.
She was preceded in death by one brother. Al Dennis, in 1937.
Burial was at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Byron Cemetery.

The children had lived in Terreton, Idaho, before moving to Burlington, where the father was principal. The Scholes family were enroute to Great Falls, Mont., to make their new home.
