Died 4 Dec 1990, Billings, Yellowstone, Montana
Buried 8 Dec 1990, SaturdayRandall B. Neumann
Randall B. Neumann, 44, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 1990 in the Deaconess Medical Center in Billings, Montana. The town of Byron and the surrounding area lost a wonderful friend, neighbor and relative who was a friend to everyone and was liked by all who met him.
Randy was born August 14, 1946 in Beatrice, Neb. to Violet and Don Neumann. He attended school in Beartrice and in Carpenter, Wyo. and later in Worland. In 1971 he married Betty Walker. They raised four children, a boy, Martin, who died in 1972 at the age of 16, and three daughters, Mrs. Danny (Ellen) Larsen of Townsend, Mont.; Mrs. Larry (Penny) Werner of Laurel, Mont.; and Mrs. Bryan (Brenda) Helzer of Bridger, Mont. he is also survived by his father, Don Neumann, and his stepmother, Lillian, of Worland; a sister, Corliss of Arizona; and a brother, Mitch, of Fromberg, Mont. His family meant so much to him.
Randy was the happiest when he was drivng the Rocky Mountain High School Activity bus in Byron where he worked and lived for 8 1/2 years. One of the highlights of his life was helping others. He especially enjoyed helping his son-in-law, Bryan Helzer, on his farm in Bridger, planting in the spring and drivng beet truck in the fall. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons-in-law Larry of Laurel and Danny of Townsend. He was a grandfather to 10 grandchildren and said each had a special place in his life.
While looking out the kitchen window one day, he saw a dear friend who had trouble seeing. He made the remark to his wife, "If only I could help her see." At his death, he donated his eyes to help someone else see. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his wife, Betty, who was with him through his fight with cancer until his death.
(taken from the Lovell Chronicle)******************

Betty was born in Thortnon, WY on July 31, 1937 to Herbert Walker and Rebecca Howe. She was one of three daughters. Her family lived in various parts of Wyoming following her father's job as a ranch-hand and outdoorsmen. A fondness for nature grew from her father's example. She went on to enjoy many hours of camping, fishing and hunting well into her later years. This would carry over into her children's lives as they all developed the same love for the outdoors. Betty met and married Charles Norwood and from this union came one son and three daughters.
Later in life, Betty was fortunate enough to meet Randall Neumann whom she instantly adored and married. Their love for one another continued to grow as they raised four children, and celebrated the coming of each grandchild, and later, great-grandchildren. Betty and Randy were able to enjoy several years of camping trips with the family, creating lasting memories. The couple resided in Byron, WY. Here they were able to meet many great friends and neighbors, those meetings blossomed into lasting relationships that Betty always held dear to her heart. Both Betty and Randy were employed at Rocky Mountain High School.
Betty's children remember well their mother's green thumb and love of gardening,. She was well-known to the community as an expert gardener and could name numerous plants and flowers with ease. Her favorite saying was, "You can never have enough flowers." She was also a seamstress, sewing yards of fabric that clothed her children and neighbors for years. One of her favorite sewing activities was making dolls for her grandchildren. Because of her four children, Betty also developed a love for cooking and food.
