Charles Burl "Buck" Pollet - August 23, 2005

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Aug. 29 in the Byron LDS Chapel for Charles Burl (Buck) Pollet, who died Tuesday, Aug. 23 at the Powell Valley Care Center. He was 91.
He had been a resident at the nursing home for the last two years after suffering a broken hip.
He was born near Luther, Okla., on Dec. 12, 1913, to Charles "Charlie" Loften and Sarah Ellen "Ella" Clark Pollet. He was the baby of the family of 8 eightchildren, all of whom preceded him in death.
In 1924, when he was only 10, his mother passed away, leaving Charlie to continue on alone with the big family. Some of the older children would look after Buck and helped him attain some education. As the oilfields were flourishing in Oklahoma during those years, it was natural that many of the family members would seek employment in that field. Charlie, Buck and several of his brothers and brothers-in-law worked in the "patch" from time to time. Always a wanderer at heart, when the rigs moved north, some of the brothers and their buddies came north also.
Buck came to Wyoming, settling in Lyman. He soon was introduced to a beautiful redhead, who became the love of his life. Mary "Naomi" Wilson Felix, became his wife on March 14, 1945 in Ely, Nev. She was a young widow and brought two sons into the family that became very dear to Buck. Wilson J Felix (Helen Rich) and Jerry D. Felix (Flo) were the beginning of the new family. Buck and Naomi's first son was stillborn and called Pete. Next came Christy Ellen (John Petrich), Jicki Val (Mike Brown), and Charles Burl "Chuck" Jr. (Gloria Vice).
Working for many companies through the years, including Manning, Brinkerhoff, Barnhart, Loffland Brothers, True Drilling & Gordon Engineering, they moved throughout the Rocky Mountain area, following the "booms."
They both loved to travel, sing and dance when time allowed. Home base was always in Mountain View in southwest Wyoming. In later years they settled there. They operated a cafe for a time and Buck also worked for the town of Mountain View for a while.
As they began to have some health concerns and wanted to be nearer some of the family, they relocated to Powell about 14 years ago. Buck and Naomi were members of the LDS Church and enjoyed traveling to many of the temples.
Naomi preceded him in death on Mar 26,2004. Also preceding him in death were a daughter-in-law, Gladys Felix; and grandson, Jerry B. Tanner.
In addition to his children, he is survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Mary Naomi Wilson Felix Pollet
Dec. 12, 1908 - May 26, 2004
Mary Naomi Wilson Felix Pollet died in the early morning hours on May 26, 2004. She was born on Dec. 12, 1908, the fourth daughter of six to Jason Crichton and Millesant Wheelock Wilson. Her birthplace was a ranch near Fort Bridger. Though she lived many places, Bridger Valley and Mountain View were always home.
A firm believer in continued learning through living and study, her education began in Mountain View and Robertson and she completed her formal education and received her teaching certificate from Laramie. She was the last living member of her Mountain View High graduating class of 1925.
Naomi was married to Johnie Felix on May 23, 1926, in Evanston,. They were soon joined by sons, Wilson J. and Jerry Dwayne. Tragically, Johnie's life was short because of ill health.
On March 14, 1945, Naomi married Charles Burl Pollet (Buck) in Ely, Nev. Soon there were new additions to the family. Pete, was stillborn, a very sad occurrence, then daughters Christy Ellen, and Jicki Val came along followed by another much welcome son, Charles Burl Jr. (Chuck).
Following the oil booms, the family lived many places in Wyoming, Texas, Nebraska, Utah, Montana, Colorado and the Dakotas. They always returned to Mountain View, finally retiring there. As age and ill health took its toll, Naomi and Buck decided to relocate closer to some family members. After much thought it was decided to move to Powell. They have been in Powell about 12 years. Naomi resided at the Powell Valley Care Center for 4 1/2 years after breaking her hip. She gained new friends and had great care while living there. She looked forward to the many visits of family members and the Happy Hour music. The LDS sacrament meetings were so important to her until she became very ill.
Naomi was an active member of the LDS church most of her life, serving in many capacities. She loved to dance and sing, play basketball, ride horses, working with her dad as a child, genealogy research, writing poems and stories, and was always the "family communicator" until her eyesight failed. Most of all she loved her family and husband. Her support and loyalty has always been there for them. She and Buck enjoyed many a card game the last few years.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; and her five sisters, Ouida Mae Wilson, Juanita Finnegan (Bill), Harriet Maude (Peggy) Wood (Charles), Dorothea May Sumner (Keith), and Edney Foy Schanche (Otto); her husband, Johnie Felix in 1944; daughter-in-law, Gladys Mae Felix; several nieces and nephews; a grandson, Jerry Brionne Tanner; and many other dear relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Byron LDS chapel Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at 2 p.m. Burial followed at the Byron Cemetery.
Though she often sang "Take Me Back to Bridger Valley", she and Buck decided some years ago that they liked the Byron Cemetery. And with agreement from the rest of the family, that's as it will be.
Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell had charge of services.

She drove her own car until age 90 and was known for transporting the widows in Byron to church and other places. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
IvaDell had a wonderful ability to create something from nothing: elaborate costumes and formal gowns for her four daughters, cardboard playhouses and castles, reupholstered furniture, quilts, and hand sculpted roses from homemade clay.
Mrs. Willey seemed to be always calm and serene despite the challenges that inevitably came her way. She enjoyed art, liked to draw and paint with oil. She loved music and consequently sang for many years in the church choir, and encouraged all of her daughters to learn to play the piano. She had a great appreciation for the beauties of nature, and especially loved Wyoming with its mountains, rivers, lakes and magnificent scenery. She loved to read and treasured her ability to do so especially during her later years.
IvaDell is survived by her children, Gwen Lucile Burke (Jim) of Farr West, Utah, Carol Yorgason (Carl) of Worland, Claire Davis (Brent) of Las Vegas, Nev., and Laurel Lynn Weaver (Don) of Green River; 16 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at the Green River LDS 5th Ward Chapel. Interment was Monday, Feb. 6, in the Byron Cemetery.
Fox Funeral Home of Rock Springs was in charge of arrangements.

Nell Nicholson Cowgill McEachron

Oct. 7, 1916 – Feb. 23, 2006

Nell Nicholson Cowgill McEachron died Thursday, February 23, 2006. She was 89 years of age, and only in the past few months had developed medical problems.
Nell was born on her parents’ farm in Burlington on October 7, 1916. She spent her childhood on the farm, enjoying the experiences and close family ties that farm life had to offer. Nell’s love of all things in nature, including flowers, birds and animals of all kinds, remained with her throughout her life, as did her love of music and books. She was a life-long learner, an avid reader who listened to books on tape after her eyesight kept her from reading. She became a computer whiz and communicated with family and friends through e-mail well into her 80s.
She was a wonderful musician, playing violin, accordion and piano, which was a source of enjoyment not only for her but also for many others through the years.
She had three brothers, Raymond, Kenneth and William, who preceded her in death, and one sister, Elizabeth Enes, who resides in Powell at the Rocky Mountain Manor. She was Nell’s "next-door neighbor."
Nell was married to William H. Cowgill, who died in November 1978. They had four children, Elizabeth, who died soon after birth, Anita (Kison) and her husband Robert of Titusville, Fla., Edwin Cowgill and his partner Cathy Wolfrum of Spokane, Wash., and Keith Cowgill and his wife Janet of Sedona, Ariz; seven grandchildren, Mark, Lisa, Chad, Melissa, Christopher, Janelle and Ross, and one great-grandchild, Isak from Shoreline, Wash.
She was also blessed with two special nieces, Alana Van Grinsven and Elaine Wirth, who live in Powell and Cody, respectively. They and their husbands, Tim and Steve, were very loving in their support of her and treated her more like their mother rather than an aunt.
Nell will be remembered by many in the Big Horn Basin as a fine pianist who gave countless hours to the community playing at a variety of functions, from high school choir accompaniments to dances and concerts. She played regularly for the residents of Rocky Mountain Manor where she lived.
Nell was married in February 1980 to Howard McEachron, who also preceded her in death. Howard played the banjo and they had many memorable moments together playing music for friends and family.
Nell’s wishes were to be cremated and that no public services be held. The family will honor her wishes. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Rocky Mountain Manor Memorial Fund, 140 N. Cheyenne, Powell, WY 82435.
